Optalert™ works through a pair of innovative glasses connected to an in-cab processor. The glasses constantly measure the driver's eye and eyelid movement. Based on a patented algorithm the driver's level of drowsiness is determined. Visual and audio warnings are triggered as soon as the driver shows the first signs of drowsiness. This dramatically mitigates the risk of fatigue and drowsiness related accidents.
This driver's safety device also records the driver's fatigue data over a period of time (days, weeks, months), supplying crucial fatigue risk profiling information that can be optimised to tailor personal and corporate fatigue management policies.
