No.
Optalert has passed Australian C-Tick and USA FCC standards for electrical devices. Optalert will not affect the operation of wired "non-transmitting" systems, such as hearing aids, wired earpieces for mobile phones, radios, or music players.
Neither will Optalert interfere with wireless "transmitting" systems not held to the ear, such as console-mounted or vehicle-integrated mobile phone Bluetooth systems or mobile phones used in "speaker" mode.
Wireless transmitting systems can, on the other hand, affect Optalert signal integrity to varying degrees. For instance, a Bluetooth ear set may have an effect, but this appears to depend on the quality and/or type of ear set used. Holding a mobile phone to the ear when making or receiving calls while driving and wearing Optalert glasses may interfere with the signal being transmitted from the glasses to the processor. However, as the use of a mobile phone in this way is illegal, this should not present an issue with professional drivers.
Sleep Diagnostics scientists are continuing their research on this subject.
